About E-visits with Stefanie Maass, FNP-C
From time-to-time, I have been able to provide medical services to friends and patients whether through text or telephone depending on the condition described to me. I enjoy helping people; especially when I know that I can offer some convenience by helping with certain medical conditions and medication prescriptions over the phone. Unfortunately, providing this service does take time and my license requires that I document a patient's medical treatment in a proper medical chart and I request, in writing, your medical history and health demographics. HIPAA, the legislation passed by congress to protect your health information, also requires that I disclose the methods that your health information may be used and what I do to protect your health information. This disclosure must be made available to patients and they must acknowledge and agree to these terms.
For these reasons, I am requiring that all future patients requesting an e-visit fill out the proper medical documentation and agree to certain HIPAA terms and conditions. I am requesting a nominal fee of $75 to provide this service to my patients to cover the cost of my time and implementing this service. Compared to the hassle of having to book an appointment at an urgent care, retail clinic or wait for an appointment with your primary care physician, this service provides convenience to you and still allows me to practice medicine according to license and medical board rules. When you request an e-visit from me, I will be notified via email and will contact you in a timely manner.
Valid for Follow-Up Visits and Refills, not for In-Person Visits or First Time Visits.
Warmly,
Stefanie Maass, FNP-C
